The Fredericksburg Road Economic Development (FRED) committee is a group of San Antonio citizens that are interested in the re-development of lower Fredericksburg Road, particularly from the 100 block to the 1,000 block which is approximately Five Points to IH-10.  The group is encouraging responsible development which is economically promising and sustainable and also sensitive to the history and architecture of the area and the culture of the people living in the surrounding properties. 

The group is not anti-development, however, they likely will oppose any suburban style concrete boxes void of character and offered as strip centers.

The committee is working to attract owners, developers, bankers and city planners to the opportunities of the area.

The meetings are open to the public. The meetings are usually held on the third Wednesday of the month. Time and location is posted on the committee calendar.  Click on the link in the left column  If you wish to present, you need to make arrangements with the committee in advance..
